Time Management Class

Since the school year 2014-15, a time management class has been introduced to decrease the number of tardy students.

Time Management class was introduced to help students learn the importance of time and to teach them on how to manage their time wisely. Unfortunately, this class has only happened once or twice this year.

Students were assigned this class if they get three tardy and to keep track of the tardies pink slips are given out.

“Kids are tardy no matter what,” Coach G said. “ Tardy slips are nothing but pink slips.”

Tardy class only happened once or twice this year. Students think they can get anyway by getting an excused and coming into class thinking nothing is going to happen.

“When I came back from maternity leave, I wasn’t sure if the class was regularly running and from what I understood the class was never restarted,” Ms. Catherine Floresca said.

Having the tardy class in the beginning was nothing new to the tardy students. The problem is not for first period tardy students but for all classes. Most teachers don’t care about the student being late.

“Last quarter I got about 15 tardies” Junior, Tenzin Tashitsang said, “I have heard about the class but never been called.”

Students should not be late because of passing period having the kids already at school have an extra five minutes to get to class.

People don’t understand that the tardy slips stay on your high school report cards which will notify all the colleges you have decided to go to a class or not. Tardy slips can affect your whole grade.

The class we still be implemented onto the 2016-2017 school year. How effective the class will be, is still unknown.
