Hercules Holds Second Concert of the Year

With the Christmas just around the corner, Hercules High School’s collection of various music departments, headed by Mr. Anthony West, performed their second concert of the year in the High School gymnasium.

One of the headlines to this concert was that the depth of Hercules High School’s music programs would be able to be put on display for parents and students alike.

In addition to the traditional format of solely putting Orchestra and Concert Band on display, Hercules High School’s drumline and choir also made their first appearances of the year, a refreshing change of scenery and sound, as well as an opportunity for the parents of Hercules High to become exposed to scope of Hercules music.

Parents were lined up from top to bottom in the bleachers taking videos and pictures of their children, a testament to the pride that comes with seeing a child perform at such a high level.

The night started off with the choir performing “Elijah Rock” by Arr. Roger Emerson and “Praise His Holy Name” by Keith Hampton, followed by a piano solo by Rommel Ravanera of “Bergentrückung/ASGORE” by Toby Fox/Arr. Ches, and the Hercules High School drumline performing their winter set.

After a ten-minute intermission to take down the choir’s stand and set up seats for the following acts, the intermediate orchestra, concert band, and combined advanced orchestras all had their go at dazzling the packed gym.
