West, Ensemble, Hold First Concert Together

On Wednesday, October 21st, students of Hercules High School's ensemble debuted their talents in a one-night-only Halloween-themed concert.

The headline of this concert was that this would be the first in the teaching career of new teacher Anthony West at Hercules.

"I thought the concert went great," said West. "It was kind of a panic getting the whole thing together, but it really turned out well."

In this Halloween-themed concert, students dressed up in various costumes, ranging from Beyonce to Minions.

The combination of middle and high school students tallied to about 200, with about a quarter coming from the middle school and the rest from the high school.

"They [the middle school ensemble] really brought their A-game tonight," said West.

Traditionally, these concert required a payment for entry. This year, however, the concerts were free of charge.

"I don't think it's right to have a parent pay money to see their kid play music," said West.

More concerts are expected during the course of the school year, with the dates having yet to be determined.
