Titans Overcome Early Deficit, Crush Ygnacio Valley

The Hercules Titans (4-0) continued their winning ways on Friday for the fourth straight week, coming back from an early deficit in what turned out to be a blowout win against the Ygnacio Valley Warriors (1-3).

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, and Hercules’s overall schemes on both offense and defense definitely weren’t broken. The Titans were able to abuse the winning recipe of pounding the ball on the ground and creating a No Fly Zone on defense.

The Titans were able to establish an early 10-0 lead thanks to a big rushing touchdown from senior Ernest Jackson and a 35-yard field goal from senior Prominence Akubuo-Onwuemeka. The Warriors were able to respond, pushing back with two rushing touchdowns of their own to take a 14-10 lead at the half.

Going into the second half, the Titans unleashed their killer mentality, shutting down the Warrior offense and not letting up a measly point.

Hercules went for the jugular on offense, scoring 28 unanswered points via three rushing touchdowns from junior Dieontae Malan and a huge 40-yard touchdown pass from Malan to senior Son Phan.

Next week, the Titans go on the road to play the Mountain House Bulldawgs (0-4). The Bulldogs fell the Dougherty Valley Wildcats in an abysmal 58-13 loss.
