October 29th held the first Club Fair of the 2014-15 school year. It was also the first to be held after school.

The leadership class chose to host Club Fair after school because it allowed more flexibility in what the

clubs could sell. “We wanted to test the idea out,” Leadership advisor Greg Ochs said. “It allows clubs to sell whatever they want and avoid competing with the cafeteria.”

Some students praised the idea of after-school Club Fair. “I like it,” Chidube Mekkem (11) said, “After school gives us plenty of time to look around as opposed to lunch.”

While customers enjoyed the products of various clubs, some students did not favor the idea. “I think it was unsuccessful,” Alexa Ablog (10) said. “Doing it after school is inconvenient for most students because most of us are set on leaving where there’s already food.”

Teachers joined in the festivities and enjoyed themselves as well. In previous years, many teachers did not participate in Club Fair at lunch because they bring their own lunches to school. “I never go to the lunchtime [Club Fair],” Pre-Calculus teacher Maricris Cruzat said.

Despite the varied reactions, it looks like after school Club Fairs are here to stay.
